We’re gonna discuss the key things that you should know about vaping so that you can take your hobby to new heights.  We’ve made each topic concise yet informative so that no matter what level you’re at, you can get something new out of this guide and use it to enhance your vaping lifestyle as it stands.

#1: A Positive Vaping Experience Requires Quality Products

The first thing that you need to know is the importance of choosing quality products.  Sadly, a lot of low-quality vaping products exist on the market, including e-juices, pod cartridges, box mods, coils and basically everything else that you can think of.  Why?  Because vaping is an extremely profitable industry, and everyone wants their piece of the pie.  Further, it’s a new industry, and so strict regulations are not yet in place.

So, how do you determine what’s high enough in quality to satisfy your needs, and what needs to stay on the shelf?  Well, it’s a good idea to look for vape distributors that have a good reputation for offering only the best products possible.  This way, you can trust that all of the products in their inventory are made with the same high standards in mind.

#2: Vaping Hardware Must Be Maintained to Last and Satisfy Your Needs

So, you got your first starter kit, and you can’t wait to enjoy hours upon hours of vaping bliss?  Well, before you settle into the vaping routine, know that there’s more to vaping then, well, vaping.  All hardware requires some level of maintenance, or else its ability to function properly can become compromised.

For one thing, vaping hardware needs to be cleaned regularly.  Tanks need to be taken apart and washed thoroughly as juice residue can clog things up.  Mod connections need to be swabbed gently so that they can properly connect to the other hardware pieces.  And, coils need to be replaced fairly regularly, because they are not made to last for very long.  A properly maintained setup is one that can provide you with pleasurable vapes time and time again.  Most hardware pieces should be cleaned weekly.

Further, vaping goods need to be stored safely.  Batteries should be kept in containers so that they don’t become dirty.  Mods should never be left outside or else their circuits can become fried.

#3: There are Two Kinds of Nicotine, and It’s Important to Know the Difference

As you may already know, e-liquids can be made with one of two kinds of nicotine: freebase and salt nic.  It’s important to know the difference between the two as they provide two totally different kinds of vaping experiences, and require two different kinds of hardware setups.

Freebase nic came first.  It’s not as potent as salt nic, which is why if nicotine is very important to you, you may want to opt for the other kind.  But, freebase nic is ideal for those who want box mod setups that allow them to blow big clouds.  That’s because it’s conducive to thicker vape juice formulas that increase the density of the vapor.

Salt nic is more potent, and it provides a stronger throat hit.  It’s typically preferred by former smokers.  It can only be enjoyed with a pod system, which is a portable low-wattage device that comes with a cartridge.

#4: There’s a Crucial Relationship Between Your Coil and Your Device

So, you think that your coil doesn’t matter that much?  A lot of vapers overlook their coils, as they’re small and seem flimsy.  But, that coil has a lot to do with whether or not your vapes are satisfying to you.  Every coil has a unique resistance level, which is measured in ohms.  The resistance level of a coil is compatible with a specific wattage range.  So, when choosing a coil, make sure that it can be used with the output that you prefer to vape at.

#5: There are Two Main Styles of Vaping: MTL and DL

You may come across the terms “MTL” and “DL” while shopping for vaping goods.  These refer to the two main styles of vaping.  “MTL” stands for mouth-to-lung, which is a style in which the vapor is drawn into the mouth for a second before being inhaled into the lungs.  “DL,” or direct-lung, involves sucking a large amount of vapor directly into the lungs all at once.

DL vaping is what you get with a sub-ohm system or other type of high-powered setup.  It produces a large amount of vapor, which is drawn into the lungs at once.  MTL vaping is associated with pod mods and other low-wattage devices, where the user draws in vapor in a way that’s much closer to the way one does when they smoke a cigarette.

#6: Choosing the Right Nicotine Strength is Imperative

E-liquids are available in a variety of nicotine strengths.  So, how do you know which one is right for you?  As a rule of thumb, if you used to smoke a pack of day, you should go with a mid-range, like 15mg or 18mg.  If you smoked more, you can go for a higher strength, and if you smoked less, a lower strength may suit you just fine.  But, we’re only talking about freebase nicotine here.  Almost all salt nic e-liquids come in a 50mg strength, because that’s the level that seems to provide the perfect nicotine hit each time.

Choosing the right nicotine strength ensures that you feel more satisfied when you vape, so don’t go higher or lower than what is suggested.

#7: VG and PG Make a Difference

VG is vegetable glycerin, which is a thick and viscous substances.  PG is propylene glycol, which is thinner and runnier.  These two ingredients make up the base of a vape juice.  But, the balance between the two can vary tremendously.  Higher VG formulas are for blowing thicker clouds, while higher PG formulas are for enjoying a stronger throat hit.

#8: Vape Coils Need to Be Primed

It’s important to prime your coils before you use them.  This refers to the process of preparing your coil for your vaping setup.  First, the wick of the coil must be thoroughly saturated with e-liquid.  Then, it must sit for about five minutes.  After that, it can be installed into the tank.  So, why is this so important?  Because a dry coil wick can burn the second you fire your device, making your coil unusable.

#9: The World of Vaping is Always Evolving

Something that’s exciting about vaping is that it’s a constantly evolving industry.  The technology behind vaping is always changing and diversifying so that companies can better suit vapers’ individual needs.  So, that mod that you just bought last week may seem like the most advanced piece of technology you’ve ever seen, but we bet that in a year, you’ll come across something that’s even more phenomenal.  If you’re someone who appreciates technology, you’ll love checking out the latest and greatest goods that the industry has to offer, and you’ll enjoy your vaping hobby even more as a result.
